Our hosts today were top of the league, Thackley Lightning.

We started quite brightly and with Ben Gardner making some fantastic runs down the left wing, and with Todd D'Arcy and Oliver Toothill as strong as ever in defence we kept Thackley out for much of the first half.

Thackley kept coming and eventually got one before the half time whistle.

Thackley dominated the second half with some really nice football. Jack Gill pulled off some great saves to deny our hosts again and again, but could do nothing to stop them going 2-0 then 3-0 up.

Towards the end of the game Silsden stated to play some nice football and were unlucky not to get a consolation goal for their efforts.

Ben Gardners first half performance was great, but he was just pipped to Man of the Match by Harry Dobson, who never stopped running, tackling and harassing the opposition for the whole game.
