TOURNAMENT RULES

Thank you for entering a team into our Mini Soccer Tournament. To ensure that you and your team have an enjoyable day please read through the following rules and regulations.

1. The signature on the registration form (which is handed in when registering your team) is confirmation proof of your team’s agreement to abide by the rules of the tournament.
2. No player can be registered for more than one team in each age group. Any team found playing an ineligible player will be disqualified from the remainder of the tournament.
3. All players must have been under the appropriate age on 1st September 2014. The current 2014/15 season denotes the appropriate age group.
4. Age groups Under 7 and Under 8 will play 5-a-side matches, with a maximum squad size of no more than 10 players. Age groups Under 9 and Under 10 will play 7-a-side matches, with a maximum squad size of no more than 14 players. No leeway will be allowed on squad sizes and they must be strictly adhered to.
5. A full fixture list will be included in the tournament programme.
6. Teams must be ready to start their match at the time specified in the tournament programme.
7. The duration of each match will be stated in the tournament programme.
8. At the end of each match the Managers of the two teams will be asked to sign the scorecard by the referee to indicate their agreement to the result of the match. Hebden Bridge Saints Junior Association Football Club will ensure that the results are correctly entered onto the Master Scoreboard. This rule applies to age groups Under 9 and Under 10 only. No results will be recorded in respect of age groups Under 7 and Under 8.
9. In non-competitive matches (Under 7 and Under 8), wherever possible, and determined by the number of entrants, all teams in their respective age groups will play each other. In competitive matches (Under 9 and Under 10), the first stage of matches will be in a league system with one or two groups, the size being determined by the number of entrants. Each team will play the other teams in its group on a league basis with 3 points for a win and 1 point for a draw. Information on further progression for each age group is shown on the relevant page of the programme.
10. Where league points are equal, goal difference will decide league positions. Should points and goal difference be equal, then the team having scored the greater number of goals will finish above the other team. Should the teams still be equal, then the winner of the match in which they played each other will finish in the higher position. If the teams are still level, then a penalty competition of 3 penalties per team will decide the league position. If both teams have scored an equal number of goals from their 3 penalties then sudden death applies until a winner is decided. All players in the squad will be allowed to take penalties.
11. In the case of a drawn quarter-final, semi-final or final, extra time will be played. The duration of extra time will be 3 minutes each way. The golden goal rule does not apply. If teams are still level at the end of extra time, then a penalty competition will take place as detailed above. In this case only the players left on the pitch at the end of extra-time will be allowed to take penalties.
12. Where any two teams have an obvious colour clash, and no change colours are available, then Hebden Bridge Saints Junior Association Football Club will provide bibs if required. The wearers of which will be the first named team of the fixture.
13. All FA Mini Soccer Rules will be applied. In particular, there is no offside, all free kicks are direct, the back pass rule will be enforced and goal kicks must be taken off the ground as in a direct free kick. However, for age groups Under 7 and Under 8, players will be permitted to take goal kicks from their hands.
14. The FA Respect Codes of Conduct for players, officials and spectators must be upheld at all times. Any club or individual showing a disregard for these codes will be asked to leave the tournament.
15. Hebden Bridge Saints Junior Association Football Club disclaims any liability for any injury, theft or other contingency sustained by any team or individual attending the event.
16. The decisions of the Referees and Tournament Organisers will be final.
