Comfortable Winners

A cracking game of football against Bolton Woods , with a 5-3 win to the Dragons in the previous meeting Bolton Woods were looking for revenge .
With a defensive formation used in the first half by the Dragons it was Bolton Woods that pressurised Silsden throughout and were comfortable in attacking and looked the more likely to score . Silsden stuck to their task and defended well keeping Bolton at bay until a well taken corner was perfectly headed into the back of the net to give the opposition a 1-0 lead . Silsden had very few chances in the first half but maintained a good standard .
With a change of formation at half time and creating a midfield of 4 gave the Dragons more freedom to keep possession and start to pressure Bolton Woods for the equaliser , they were rewarded with a deserved goal after Evan lobbed the ball over the keeper to make the score 1-1 . This seemed to start an onslaught from Silsden and they controlled everything from then on .
Chance after chance and goal after goal was brilliant to watch and nothing more than the team deserved . Billy grabbed his 2nd hatrick of the season with well taken goals after putting in a shift down the right wing and Archie P grabbed a brace to continue his goal scoring prowess . Alex was back to top form in goal and produced good saves at crucial times . With Leo deputising for jack at left back he continued to shine and still had freedom to get down the left wing and get himself an assist . Archie N played his part again with good challenges and clearances sharing the role with Evie who once again showed no fear . Adam was faultless in defence for the whole game and proved tough to beat all game and added support at corners and was unlucky not to score . Euan had his usual solid game with great tackles and stability . Alfie played his part in midfield and constantly had great runs and showed great awareness to link up with Evan who was unfortunate not to score more goals but again his forward thinking was brilliant . With the goal scorers and an own goal the Dragons ran out comfortable 7-1 winners . Man of the Match was a close call with 3 or 4 nominees but it was Adams continued performance for 60 minutes that pipped other contenders .
Thanks to Ben for reffing a brilliant game ⚽
