A good match for the last league game of the season ended in defeat for the dragons . A highly rated Weston Lane side applied pressure from the start and their number 15 proved elusive to the Silsden defence and soon scored twice and rounded off his hatrick inside 15 minutes with a penalty , the dragons offered little in resistance and couldn't get a hold on the game and found themselves 4-0 on twenty minutes .
A quick change of formation from four at the back to three and creating an attacking midfielder gave a bit more stability and Silsden started to produce some good passing moves and went close with a few chances . A half time team talk given to the Dragons giving confidence and belief worked well as they started the second half with plenty of commitment . Silsden started to put pressure on Weston Lane and a brilliant move down the left wing and a pin point cross allowed Huey to pull a goal back . The Dragons rallied and kept the pressure going and showed how they can play which led to man of the match Huey poaching a second goal and giving Silsden hope of getting something from the game . Unfortunately Weston Lane weren't having any of it and from kick off went and knicked a goal to make the score 5-2 and finish the match winners .
Big thanks to Weston Lanes hospitality offering water at half time and catering hot dogs for the team after the match .
