Half term friendly ...

Today's friendly was to keep the team spirit and momentum going and the Dragons seized the opportunity on the park .
The pitch had more or less recovered and weather conditions were fine .
The game started with both teams trying to gain possession and settle into their passing play and after a see saw ten minutes Silsden gained the upper hand over Skipton and were rewarded to open the scoring through Alfie Liddle . This gave the Dragons confidence to dominate and soon added a second through birthday boy Billy , further goals from joint top scorer Archie Pierson , Billy and Alfie Spicer grabbing his first goal as a Dragon gave Silsden a comfortable 5-0 lead at half time . During the first half Harry Moogained some valuable game time and is developing well and Evie made her debut settling in well and showing great determination , I've not seen anyone show so much promise in their first game as Evie did . Billy rounded off a fine performance with a well executed finish to grab his hatrick and make it 6-0 . With a few changes in positions the Dragons let things slide a bit and gave Skipton some reward for their persistence to swing the second half round and grab 3 goals to pull the score back to 6-3 , the coaches didn't panic though and had confidence in the team to sort things out and in a roundabout way pushed forward to win a corner , Alfie L fired it into the box for it to go in off a defender and finish the game 7-3 victors . Alex showed his assertiveness in shouting and using his box well . Once again the 3 defenders of Jack , Archie and Euan were solid and Evan oozed confidence in midfield and showed great awareness also unlucky not to get on the score sheet . Archie P relished the chances on the left wing and Alfie S gains confidence each match .
The Dragons showed today that being out of position puts them out of their comfort zone but need to realise the changes and adapt .
Man of the match was Billy .
