Local Derby, success for Silsden

The last game of the season, see's a Warm spring Wednesday evening Kickoff and another reshuffle with several players injured, Lewis Gartland with a knee injury and Jaylan Camsey a broken hand.

Silsden started slowly and the Shammies number 4 unleashed a great shot and Silsden went 1 down. Down but not out, The Cobbydalers woke up and started to pass the ball around nicely and move the opposition around.

Daniel Barnes broke a few tackles and layed the ball on for Sam Ayik who coolly slotted the ball in the corner of the net.

Harry Whitaker made some outstanding tackles and breaks down the left wing, one resulting in a corner taken by Man of the match Charlie Barnes who curled it in for Daniel Barnes to head home.

More great teamwork resulted in Dan scoring his second from distance, making it 1 - 3 at half time.

The second half was end to end with both teams going close but Sammie B in the Silsden goal was as solid as ever. Fantastic defensive play from George Ellison and Lola Cunningham kept the Shamrocks at bay.

A well deserved goal came from Josh Elliot who never stopped plugging away at the Shamrocks defence and finally his persistance paid off when he broke free from the 2 defenders marking him and blasted it into the back of the net.

A good Shammies team never gave up and got a goal back with an unfortunate deflection a minute before the final whistle and the score ended 2 -4

An exciting game with no quarter given, both teams played hard right to the very end.
