A game of 4 quarters we showed weaknesses but also many positives against a strong opponent.

A game of 4 quarters certainly - it worked out like this:

Q1
Tough start but after a slight delay we kicked off versus Leeds Maccabi. The quarter went back and forth with us showing well for the ball, getting it forward and getting the odd chance.

Maccabi looked good but not too threatening until there was a couple of minutes left of the quarter and they broke through and scored whilst most of our players were upfield.

What happened next is unfortunate as 3 players tangled for the ball and a penalty was given which was probably just outside the box.
Abbi made a good effort but the ball sailed past and we were 2-0 after the 1st quarter.

Q2
A change in goal meant that Abbi came out and James went in goal. We looked good for a while but struggled to keep hold of the ball. This put quite a bit of pressure on Noah in defence and we soon conceeded our 3rd goal.

Freddie then got us back into it with a shot that wasn't held by Maccabis keepe but then we conceeded quickly after as James was left a bit exposed.

The quarter ended with a 3rd goal for Maccabi as they won the ten minutes 3-1.

Q3
A change in play happened in the game here as we kept it down to one goal difference which unfortunately went the way of Maccabi but we showed a bit more attacking intent and was unlucky as a few chances went either wide or straight down the keepers throat. Toby did well in this half - looking good in goal and being very unlucky with the goal.

Q4
We turned it around in this the final quarter - as Noah went in goal and did well stopping some good chances but also at the other end our shooting finally clicked into place as we out-scored Maccabi 4-3 with Freddie getting his hat-trick (and a 4th) and James getting his first of the season.

Overall it was a very promising start against a team who will be one of the best I am sure. We should great togetherness in the game showing very hard team work in the final quarter to really boss the last 10 minutes and be unlucky with only scoring 4 goals and also being a bit unlucky with conceeding 3.

Great effort kids - and keep up the hard work!
