Dragons ground out a well deserved victory on a muddy, energy draining pitch.

1st Quarter
Harvey (GK), Will L, Evan, Thomas, Harry MS, Edward.

A good opening quarter for the Dragons on a very muddy pitch. Great team work was evident and they controlled the game very well restricting Leeds Macabbi to little time on the ball. The opening goal reflected the great team work. Thomas took a very good throw in to Harry MS, who beat a couple of players and crossed to an unmarked Edward at the back post who finished confidently.
0 – 1

2nd Quarter
Harvey (GK), Will L, Ollie, Thomas, Lennon, Edward.

The second period carried on from the first with the Dragons controlling most of the possession. Edward and Lennon were both unlucky not to apply a finish to a Thomas corner, sheer numbers blocking both efforts. Leeds Macabbi did start to see a little more of the ball, their number 7 starting to look dangerous. I had just made a note to get the players to not let him have any space when he received a throw in, took on a couple of our boys and finished via a deflection to make it 1 – 1. Edward did have another chance late in the quarter after a quick break but his effort bounced back off the post.
1 – 1

3rd Quarter
Harry MS (GK), Will L, Evan, Ollie, Lennon, Edward.

More even in the third quarter with Leeds Macabbi seeing more of the ball but to be honest this worked in our favour. Leeds Macabbi had the first real shot in anger of the quarter but Harry MS made a difficult save look easy. With Lennon tasked with keeping their number 7 quiet and the extra space the Dragons started to roar! Firstly a three man break with Thomas, Evan and Edward all having touches before Edward applied the finish to make 1 – 2. Will L did make an excellent goal line clearance after a corner. But the Dragons were soon in total control after Edward again caught Leeds Macabbi out with a quick counter attack and powerful finish to make it 1 – 3.
1 – 3

4th Quarter
Ollie (GK), Will L, Evan, Thomas, Lennon, Harry MS (Edward).

The game finished with a tight final quarter. All the players were tired after playing on such a muddy pitch. Leeds Maccabi had plenty of the ball but we defended superbly well. Ollie made two fantastic saves from long range efforts but other than that we were comfortable. We didn’t really threaten going forward but we saw the game out for a well-deserved victory.
1 – 3

Summary.
Great result for our players on a very muddy and sticky pitch. It wasn’t a game full of chances and quick play, as the ball tended to get stuck in midfield but we controlled the game for long periods. Showing great team work, tackling and passing.

All of the boys performed magnificently, Harvey was awarded player of the match for a great performance in goal. Harry MS and Ollie both also impressed with their stints in goal. Will L, Evan, Ollie and Thomas all did a great job of breaking up the Leeds Maccabi play and retaining the ball. Lennon had a tough shift keeping their number 7 quiet but did a great job. Edward and Harry MS provided great pace and attacking threat even on the muddy surface.

Well done team another performance we can all be proud of!
